Cleaning Prices in Ottawa

House Cleaning starts at $99 per visit. Beyond that, we do not list set prices, because a cleaning price is mostly time. Here is what drives a quote, service by service.

The short answer

How are cleaning prices in Ottawa worked out?

Four things set the price of a cleaning job: the size of the space, its condition, how often it is cleaned and which extras you add. A cleaning price is mostly time, so anything that adds time or changes the work changes the number.

That is why a fair answer is a method, not a single figure. A tidy two-bedroom condo is a different job from a family house with pets, stairs and a long gap since the last clean.

Factors

What affects the price of a cleaning?

The same handful of factors come up whatever the service. None is a hidden extra: they are the questions any cleaner needs answered.

Quote steps

How is a cleaning quote built?

Every quote follows roughly the same path.

You describe the space

Type, size, condition, frequency, extras and access.

The scope is agreed

Anything unclear is checked before a price is attached.

The quote sets it out

Scope, price, any extras charged separately, parking if it applies, and tax.

You decide

Accept, ask for a change or walk away. A changed scope means a changed price.

Scope

What is included in a quote, and what is not?

A quote covers the scope agreed for your space, and each service page spells out the work normally inside it. Read the scope as closely as the price. If the quote does not name something, do not assume it is in.

  • Tax: shown separately or included? Ask for the total.
  • Parking and building fees
  • Extras such as the oven, interior windows or baseboards
  • Whether a minimum charge applies
  • Work outside a standard clean, such as mould treatment, wall washing, junk removal and repairs

First clean

How does a first clean differ from recurring cleaning?

The first visit is often the longest, because it deals with whatever has built up. After that, a regular visit starts from a space that has already been reset.

Be honest about the starting point when you ask. Accurate details let the first visit be scoped realistically and avoid a surprise on the day.

Comparing

How do you compare two cleaning quotes?

Compare scope before price. A lower quote that covers less work is a different job, not a cheaper one.

Ask for in writing

Request the same details from each company.

  • Which rooms and tasks are included
  • Who supplies products and equipment
  • Whether tax is added and the final total
  • Whether a minimum or parking charge applies

Then check

Line the quotes up and mark every difference.

  • How many visits the price assumes
  • What happens if something is missed
  • The date on the quote and how long it stays valid
  • Anywhere a quote is silent: ask
